The seat is slightly tilted forward, and the rear of the seat is shaped to suppress posterior pelvic rotation. This is expected to reduce the strain on the lumbar spine and intervertebral discs for people who frequently bend forward.
Hida Sangyo has launched the "Align Project," a collaborative project between industry, academia, and government to research and develop chairs that are gentle on people with back pain. The developed "back-friendly chair" aims to alleviate strain on the lower back when standing up or sitting down, while also prioritizing comfort. Two types are available to suit different symptoms: a normal type and the Flykline 360°, where the seat moves to conform to the body.
