Hans Sandgren Jacobsen, born in 1963, is a Danish designer. After gaining experience as an apprentice furniture maker, he graduated from the design department of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After spending time in Japan in the early 1990s, he worked at the office of Nanna Ditzel, a leading female designer in Scandinavia, before becoming independent. He has his own workshop and is highly regarded for his exceptional craftsmanship. His trademark is his completely minimalist design. He designs for leading Scandinavian manufacturers such as FRITZ HANSEN, Fredericia, eilersen, and Porada, and also collaborates with Japanese woodworking furniture manufacturers. He has received numerous international design awards, including the Good Design Award, the iF Design Award, and the Red Dot Design Award.
