vokko and DENTO collaboration items
This one-of-a-kind item was created through a collaboration between DENTO and "vokko," a general store in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, which handles Scandinavian vintage items and items that enrich everyday life. The sharp design of the frame and the natural texture of solid wood bring out the beauty of the Swedish plant specimens.

Plant specimens from Sweden
This specimen that Vokko bought in Sweden is a plant specimen made in Sweden between 1944-46. It has been kept in a file for many years and is in good condition, still retaining a slight hint of green and floral color. The label lists the name, subject, habitat, and collection date. The detailed background of the specimen is unknown, but it is one of the specimens from a country where botany is popular, as plant taxonomy was started by the Swede, Dr. Carl von Linnaeus.

Each and every frame is custom-made to fit each specimen
The specimens are well preserved and the colors remain, so we chose the wood species for the frame to match the colors of the petals and trunks. In order to highlight the artwork when it is hung on a wall, we designed the front of the frame to be thin and sharp. The mounts are also old and vary slightly in size for each piece, so we carefully measured each mount and adjusted the details of the frame for each product to the millimeter.
