This product is made using traditional Kakegawa-ori. The distance between the rush and the warp threads is wide, 2.5 to 3cm, so it is possible to weave only with rush, which has a hard skin and uniform thickness. Therefore, it has an excellent sense of volume.
Moderate cushioning by inserting 3mm of urethane between the outer rush and the wooden board, we have created an easy-to-use tatami mat with just the right amount of cushioning.
The non-woven fabric on the back has been treated to prevent slipping even on flooring. Even in homes with children and elderly people, it can be used safely without slipping.

Rush is a natural material, so it is easier to cut than chemical materials. If the weaving system breaks in the middle of the machine during weaving, the part you want to cut may pop out, as shown in the photo on the right. This is not a defect, but a phenomenon called "breakage". If you cut the breakage with scissors or nail clippers, you can use it as is.
