The backrest is made of curved solid wood, and finished to fit the body. The seat cushion is underlined with a fabric spring, keeping it thin without feeling like you're hitting the bottom.
Finger joint to prevent tearing
Wood has the property of splitting in the direction of its grain. Because the backrest is tilted backwards, finger joints are used at the connection with the rear legs, changing the grain direction to increase durability.
