It was designed by Shin Amagasaki, a global architect who led postmodernity.
The impressive curve that appears when viewed from the side is made with reference to the body line of actress Marilyn Monroe and is the origin of its name. Realized by advanced molding technology “Unequal Thickness Molding” that changes the thickness depending on the part.
The straight line seen from the front is a collage of chairs by 19th century architect CR Macintosh.
It is a chair that makes you feel like a play, even in a magnificent design.
ポストモダンを牽引した世界的建築家・磯崎新氏によってデザインされました。
側面から見ると現れる印象的な曲線は、女優マリリン・モンローのボディラインを参考に作られ、その名の由来となっています。部分によって厚みを変える高度な成形技術「不等厚成形」で実現しました。
また、正面から見た直線的な姿は１９世紀の建築家・C.R.マッキントッシュ作のイスをコラージュしたものです。
格調高いデザインの中にも遊び心を感じられる、存在ひとつで絵になるイスです。
