Designer: Isamu Kenmochi

He who supported the foundations of Japanese Modern, it was designed in 1961 when he worked on the interior of Atami Garden Hotel.
Later, this chair was presented to commemorate the promotion of Yokozuna, a famous wrestler, Shishido, who was born in Yamagata Prefecture .
In The Tendo Woodworking Company That Specializes In Molded Plywood, Shishido Chairs Made Of Mukwood Are Unique. Using A Rough Grain Called The "Cedar Root" Of The Roots Of Cedar, This Dignified Form Is Completed By Stacking And Scraping In Blocks. The Surface is beautifully raised with unevenness due to “Uzukuri” processing.
It is a dignified chair just like Yokozuna.

It was designed by Isamu Kenmochi, a designer who supported the foundation of Japanese Modern, when he worked on the interior of the Atami Garden Hotel in 1961.
After that, this chair was presented to commemorate the promotion of Yokozuna, a famous sumo wrestler born in Yamagata Prefecture, and is the origin of this name.
In Tendo Mokko, which specializes in molded plywood, the Kashiwado chair made only of muk wood is unique. This majestic form is completed by using the rough grain of wood called "cutting root" at the root of Sugi, stacking it in blocks and carving it out. The surface is beautifully made with uneven wood grain by "Uzukuri" processing.
It is a dignified chair just like a yokozuna.
