Material information
Abaca is a fiber extracted from the trunk of a banana-like perennial plant commonly known as Manila hemp. It is said to be the strongest and most water-resistant of all natural fibers. Each piece is handmade by artisans.
Precautions
Because each piece is hand-knitted by artisans, there may be slight variations in size or distortion. Color variations may also occur depending on the weather, temperature, and humidity. Please be careful of color transfer due to exposure to water or friction. Depending on the condition of the item upon arrival, it may be misshapen. To restore its shape, use steam from an iron. Because it is made from natural materials, it may have a distinctive odor. However, if you leave it in a well-ventilated place for 2-3 days, the odor will fade over time.
