Material information
The Imabari towel production area is rich in high-quality water that is extremely low in heavy metals and hardness, making it ideal for bleaching and dyeing. By bleaching the fabric using this soft water, the fibers are given a gentle finish, creating a delicate and soft texture. To be certified as an Imabari towel, it must pass rigorous tests. The most notable feature of Imabari towels is their absorbency. To ensure that the towels absorb water right from the start, even without washing, we conduct two water absorption tests: one before washing and one after washing three times, where we float a piece of the towel in water and check whether it sinks within five seconds. It sinks quickly, meaning it absorbs water quickly. It also passes numerous other certification standards, including tests for pilling, color fading, and durability. To ensure safe and reliable quality, only products that pass our unique certification standards are allowed to use our brand mark. The quality of Imabari towels is maintained by adding the skills and care that have been cultivated over many years to each and every step of the towel manufacturing process.
