Material information
The "tear urn" was a vessel used by ancient Roman women to hold the tears they shed as they thought of their husbands going to war. However, it was also a vessel for tears of joy. Its charming shape is inspired by urns made in Arita from the early Imari period of the 1600s. These small yet striking urns can beautifully decorate your daily life with a single flower picked from the field. They are made using the "haideikomi" (mud casting) method, which is said to be the most labor-intensive of all Arita ware molding methods. Add dried flowers to your tear urn to express your gratitude and give it as a gift to family, friends, and loved ones, bringing a smile to everyone's faces.
Precautions
As these are handmade items, slight variations in color and size may occur. Please note this. After use, wash with a soft sponge or cloth and dish soap. Do not use cleansers or nylon scrubbers, as they may scratch the surface. When using on a table, avoid dragging the dish to avoid scratching the table. Dried flowers are made from dried natural materials, so each one will vary. Color and shape will gradually change over time and with the weather. Once they begin to fade and decay, they have reached the end of their lifespan. As they are not fresh flowers, do not water them. They are very sensitive to water and humidity, and high temperatures and humidity can cause mold. Please also note that the pigments in the leaves may bleed and transfer color to surrounding surfaces such as walls and floors. Dust on dried flowers can also cause mold. Remove dust with a soft brush or gently blow it away with a hair dryer. Avoid direct sunlight or strong light, as this can cause fading. By keeping it in good condition, you can enjoy it for a longer period of time.
