The wooden parts are made using a turning technique, which involves using a machine called a woodworking lathe to rotate wood and carve out various shapes. Because each piece is handmade by an Indian artisan, there are variations in knots, grain, color depth, etc., making each piece unique.
The fabric shade that encases the light is carefully crafted by Japanese artisans, and even the assembly of the small parts and components is done in Japan. The shade is pleated, giving it a beautiful and luxurious look even when turned off. The fabric allows the light to shine through, creating a soft light that creates a calming atmosphere. It can be used as a main display above the dining table, or two small-sized lamps can be lit side by side. This pendant light is easy to use in a variety of places, such as the entryway or children's room.
Material information
Sheesham wood is an evergreen broadleaf tree known as Indian rosewood or shitan in Japan. It is often used for high-end furniture and carvings such as joinery, and is particularly popular in India as a wood for woodcarvings. Sheesham wood is very hard and durable, making it a popular material for furniture and other items. Its beautiful grain has a luxurious feel, and the color deepens with use.
Precautions
・When lit, the area around the light source becomes very hot. Please be careful when touching it. ・When using, take care not to catch your hands, feet, or objects on the cord. ・Do not subject the fixture to vibration or impact, or swing it around. ・Never use the fixture if it is turned over or left unattended while lit. This may cause discoloration of the floor or a fire. ・Never cover the fixture with cloth, vinyl, paper, etc. This may cause overheating and a fire. ・The lamp becomes very hot while lit or immediately after being turned off. Please be careful not to get burned. ・Do not use within reach of small children. ・Make sure the lamp does not come into contact with fabrics such as curtains, wallpaper, or lighting fixture cords. This product makes use of the natural texture of the material, so each piece will have variations in knots, grain, and color intensity. As it is handmade, there may be slight variations in size and shape. Because woodworking is kept to a minimum, resin contained in the wood may become flaked and cause color transfer. Please be aware that resin may come out easily when using the product in places with high temperatures and humidity. Also, please be aware that placing the product in direct sunlight or in direct contact with air conditioning may cause the wood to warp or crack. If the product becomes dirty, we recommend cleaning it with a dry cloth. Please be aware that wiping with water may cause color transfer.
