Alder is a typical hardwood on the west coast of the United States and the northwest coast of the Pacific Ocean.
Alder have a similar temperament to the trees native to Japan. Because it is relatively soft and easy to process, it is popular as a furniture material. It is a material that makes you feel warm, and it has a deep natural color and texture that is unique to Alder.
The wood is abundant in the forest and from the viewpoint of nature conservation, logging does not lead to deforestation. Hotta uses Alder materials sourced from certified forests.
