Mobel Toko / Palapeli Bench
Develop your imagination.
Puzzle furniture born in Asahikawa in Northern Europe. "PALAPELI" in Finnish means "jigsaw puzzle". Foster rich imagination by combining various colors and shapes.
Concept / コンセプト
PALAPELI is a collapsible furniture series designed for children.
The main idea of the design is that it grows with the child. It also teaches causal connections to a child: if it is assembled incorrectly, it will not work.
The design also helps children to understand the very basic logic of numerical order. Even young children can assemble PALAPELI furniture with some help from an adult. It is possible and fun to assemble and disassemble the chair or the table over and over again, just like a puzzle. When children can take part in making their own furniture, they may also grow more attached to them, and will hopefully want to use them for a longer time.
The shape of the joint which resembles a snowflake is also present on the package graphics. Falling snowflakes are a common sight both in Hokkaido and in Finland so it was a natural choice as a theme for the PALAPELI design. For me the snowflake design also symbolizes the collaboration between two parties from snowy countries.
PALAPELI Bench Boko White
A bench that you want to assemble together and want to sit with.
Designed so that women and elderly people can easily assemble by themselves. Do not use any tools, just fasten with screws. Please assemble it so that the family can enjoy the puzzle. There is an order for assembling, and you can also teach the child how to assemble and the basic numerical order. Also, because it is packed in a gift box at the time of delivery, it is ideal for gifts to friends' children and grandchildren. It has a stylish design that can be used in a variety of scenes in adult rooms, depending on the device.
Designed like a snowflake created from a snowy place.
There is a hole in the center of the leg that indicates the stacking order. A stylish design that hides playfulness in the inconspicuous part of the back of the seat will make you smile unintentionally. Designer Mikko Halonen is a new artist born in 1976. He is also a student, studying furniture design at university while working as a freelancer. The image he put on this table is "snowflake." The beautiful details of nature that symbolize northern countries will be engraved gently on children's hearts.
PALAPELI Bench Deco White (left) / PALAPELI Bench Boko Yellow (right)
A bench that is a jigsaw puzzle that can be assembled and connected.
There are two types of fun shapes: <Deco> and <Boko>. The curves are made to fit each other exactly, and the figure is exactly the "jigsaw" itself. And there are 6 colors: White, Yellow, Pink, Orange, Light Blue and Green. Matte shades that are not too bright are cute. To make it easy for even small children to remember, all hiragana and katakana product names are used. Let's enjoy choosing a color and shape with a child. The experience of "a chair of your own choice" will increase your awareness of valuing things and will also be useful for emotional education.
Easy to carry anywhere and anytime.
The legs can be removed and adjusted in two stages to achieve the optimal feel as the child grows. Despite being made of real wood, it weighs about 2.5kg and is lightweight. It can be easily moved by women, seniors and children. In addition, the corners draw a large arc, making it safe to hit your body. Not only cute, but also functional.
All materials are made from high-quality, safe Hokkaido Hippo (Birch). Although it is a large tree with a height of 30m and a trunk thickness of about 1m, it is an elegant material with a slight pink color and a fine grain with no habit. Due to its beauty, it is used not only in furniture but also in interiors, and it has become difficult to obtain particularly good quality Hokkaido products. The luxury of using such materials for furniture for children. Please give me the joy of touching the real thing.
