Camphor wood insect repellent blocks with a refreshing, cool scent (10 pieces)
Product description
These insect repellent blocks are made from the scraps of camphor wood from Kyushu that has been processed into boards. Place them in the drawers of your dresser or wardrobe to protect your clothes from pests. They also have a deodorizing effect, so they are recommended for places where odors are a concern, such as toilets and shoe cabinets. When the scent fades, you can reapply it with camphor oil and reuse it. Please place 2-3 pieces in a dresser drawer or 4-5 pieces in a clothing case in the corner.
*When the scent becomes weak, you can reapply camphor oil (sold separately, product number 161099) and use it again.
Material information
Camphor, known as an insect repellent, is a tree known for its distinctive fragrance. Its unique aroma is said to be the origin of the Japanese word "kus" (smelly) or "medicine." Known as camphor in Dutch, camphor has long been used for various purposes around the world, including as a raw material for medicines, fragrances, and celluloid. Camphor's refreshing, menthol- and eucalyptus-like scent repels insects, leading to its long-standing use as an insect repellent. Camphor, a natural insect repellent, is extracted from camphor wood chips by steam distillation and crystallized. Its highly volatile nature means that it has a strong camphor scent when removed from a clothing case, but the scent fades with exposure to air and sunlight. Because it contains no chemicals, it is a gentle insect repellent for those sensitive to the environment. Natural camphor was once a monopoly product, contributing to the nation's interests. However, due to the spread of inexpensive synthetic insect repellents and declining demand, only a few companies currently produce it, making it a highly valuable product.
Precautions
Please store camphor carefully and avoid licking or eating it. Camphor oil is a 100% natural oil extracted from camphor trees, so applying it directly to the skin can be too irritating and cause a rash. Please handle with care. Do not use in conjunction with commercially available insect repellents. It may cause stains.
