IFDA = International Furniture Design Fair Asahikawa is a furniture competition that began in 1990 and has been held every three years since then in the furniture town of Asahikawa. This is a very significant business that is based on our desire to contribute to the preservation and recycling of forest resources by proposing a lifestyle in which high-quality furniture is used for a long time, breaking the vicious circle of mass production, mass consumption, and mass disposal. This POLPO chair won a prize in 1996 at a competition that is the aspiration of craftsmen and designers who love such trees. The concept is gentleness that is warm and enveloping for people living in the harsh environment of the northern provinces. Natural innocent wood and carefully tanned nume genuine leather are used to create a finish that is full of natural flavor. The design is simple and dynamic, and the design is perfectly crafted with delicate hand work, and the sense of stability is also outstanding. The leather part is strong and resistant to mold breakage, and the flavor increases as age goes by, and it becomes more comfortable with the skin of the user.
A unique design inspired by Winner.
POLPO is the Italian word for octopus. It originates from the fact that eight smooth round rods are used as legs, seats, and backs for the central timber. The design hint is Winner stabbed with a toothpick, a piece with a unique side. We also support the attitude of relaxing by raising an agura or one leg, in the hope that people who sit back will feel relaxed. In order to make it strong, I repeated prototypes and realized my wish.
A new style combining solid wood and thick nume leather.
Nara is popular for its beautiful wood grains and familiar colors. It is luxuriously used in solid wood. The finest plum leather held by the POLPO is cut from a large piece and carefully fused with stitches. The bend of the leather that is firmly wrapped around the back and the seat's sub-frame and the naturalness of the oak wood frame will increase the feeling of comfortable holding. Nume leather has superior moisture absorbency and breathability, and in cold seasons it will give a feel of warmth as sallies in hot seasons. Enjoy the best time to stay calm and relaxed.

The glossy polished wood, the leather that fits your body to the extent you use it... I think you will feel the joy that you have met a good partner in this chair. This is the result of designers and manufacturers working together to create leather thickness, strength, and sewing. For example, a cloth is stretched on the back of the leather on the seat surface so that it does not stretch too much. In order to be used for many years, we applied a urethane coating that covers the trees with resin. It's resistant to dirt and scratches, and it's easy to take care of because it doesn't require coating.
